Dr. Jordan grew up in Atlanta and graduated with high honor from the Georgia Institute of Technology. After receiving
his medical degree from the Medical College of Georgia, he completed his residency at Emory University in Internal
Medicine. He served on the medical faculty at Emory University School of Medicine before continuing his
cardiovascular training at the University of Florida, Jacksonville. Dr. Jordan is certified by the
American Board of Internal Medicine in Cardiovascular Disease and was recertified in 2005. His interests are in nuclear cardiology,
non-invasive testing and intravascular ultrasound.

An Atlanta native, Dr. Azar received his Bachelor of Science degree from the Georgia Institute of Technology as
a Dean’s list graduate. He subsequently graduated from the Emory University School of Medicine, where he completed
his Internal Medicine residency and served on the medical faculty. Dr. Azar completed both his cardiovascular and
interventional fellowships at the University of Florida in Gainesville. He is certified by the American Board of
Internal Medicine and Cardiovascular Disease, and is a fellow of the American College of Cardiology. His
interests are in invasive and interventional cardiology.

Amol S. Bapat, MD

Amol S. Bapat, M.D., F.A.C.C., F.S.C.A.I. was born in Birmingham, Alabama. He attended The Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore, Maryland where he received his B.A. in Chemistry. He then proceeded to The University of Alabama School of Medicine in Birmingham, Alabama, and after receiving his M.D., pursued his Internal Medicine Residency at The Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, Texas. He stayed on at Baylor for his subspecialty training in Cardiovascular Disease and Interventional Cardiology. While at Baylor, he was the recipient of a NIH National Research Award Training Grant; his research involved platelet and thrombosis physiology.
He was the first physician to work with The Larry King Cardiac Foundation (LKCF) and its partnership with Saint Joseph’s Hospital, and was awarded the Physician Laureate Award by the LKCF in 2006.
He is Director of the Congestive Heart Failure Clinic at St. Joseph’s Hospital of Atlanta and is on the Board of Directors of the St. Joseph’s Hospital Heart and Vascular Institute.
He is Vice-Chairman of Medicine and Chief of Cardiology at North Fulton Regional Hospital.
He is Board Certified in Cardiovascular Disease, Nuclear and Interventional Cardiology.

Apurva D. Shah, MD

Dr. Shah was born in Cambridge, Massachusetts but spent his formative years in Gaithersburg, Maryland. He graduated from T.S. Wootton
High School and went to The Illinois Institute of Technology, where he graduated after 3 years with a Bachelors of Science in Chemical
Engineering, highest honors. He completed his medical school training at The Chicago Medical School. He then traveled to Thomas
Jefferson University Hospital in Philadelphia, PA completing his Internal Medicine Residency. His cardiology fellowship was
performed at The University of Medicine and Dentistry/Robert Wood Johnson Medical School in New Brunswick, New Jersey. During
that training, he also spent time at The Deborah Heart and Lung Transplant Center. He moved from the Northeast to Atlanta, Georgia
in 2005. He is Board Certified in Internal Medicine and Cardiovascular Diseases. He specializes in non-invasive and invasive cardiology.
He has a particular interest in cardiovascular imaging, including cardiac perfusion studies, echocardiography and cardiac CT.

Aashish Desai, MD

Aashish Desai, MD

Dr. Aashish Desai was born and raised in Murfreesboro, Tennessee. He graduated with honors from the University of Pennsylvania in Bioengineering. He received a medical degree from the University of Tennessee, Memphis and completed his medicine residency at Emory University. He completed his fellowship in general and interventional cardiology at the University of Florida.
His primary clinical interest is vascular disease, including coronary and peripheral angioplasty. This includes treatment of angina and leg claudication symptoms, along with nonhealing foot/toe ulcers with the use of balloons and stents. He also practices noninvasive cardiology, including nuclear and cardiac CT imaging.

Mr. Gaile, a native of Virginia, began his medical career as a Hospital corpsman in the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam War. After
returning from those duties, he graduated from the University of Virginia and Duke University's Physician Assistant
Program with highest honors before settling in Atlanta in 1978. Since that time, his practice has spanned the spectrum of
cardiology including general diagnostic, interventional, critical care, and cardiac transplant disciplines. Additionally, he has
held numerous positions in state and national PA professional organizations as well as served on various taskforce and
committee projects with the American College of Cardiology. Mr. Gaile joined our practice in April, 1999.

Kristin Szurovy, PA-C

Miss Szurovy grew up in Marietta, Georgia and graduated Magna Cum Laude with a BSFCS degree in Dietetics from the University of Georgia. She then completed a Dietetic Internship at Emory University Hospital before going on to become a Registered Dietitian. Following her internship, she received a Master of Health Sciences in Physician Assistant Studies from the University of South Alabama. Miss Szurovy has been practicing as a Physician Assistant since 2003. She previously worked in cardiothoracic surgery before joining the practice in April 2006. She is a fellow of the American Academy of Physician Assistants as well as the Georgia Academy of Physician Assistants.
